Does anyone know of a way to send an automated email every 4hrs?

The process must also send either a success or failure notification if the automated email is or is not replyed to.

As far as I reckon, it's hoping for alot.... but what the boss wants....

I use an application called Karens Emailer II. You can download it from for free. It uses SMTP to send so you dont need Outlook running on the box your sending from. You can schedule it to run using Windows Scheduler whenever you want.
I use it to remind me to change the backup tapes every Monday morning, but I think it should be possible to make it run every four hours.
This program doesnt do anything with replies. You would need to specify an email address to send from and assuming relaying wasnt a problem then you could have responses fall back into a mailbox your boss could see. This would let him know if the message had been replied to or not.
