Hi all,

On a customer site with IP500v2 R11 and 1x Application Server (Linux) I need to make some automated backup of the systems.
I have managed to setup a scheduled backup rutine on the app-srv, but what to do on the IP500?

It seems that only immidiate backups is possible from the webinterface on the IP500.

Anyone who has a better way backing up the IP500 to an external destination?

Why Bother
every-time they log on to manager & make a change a the current config file is stored (& old ones renamed as .BAK)

it is only when things change that a backup is necessary so this should be more than adequate, backing up the working directory of the manager PC should suffice.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Here's a useful tip.

In Manager > Preferences - Set your (and your other engineers) Working directory for Configs to a cloud based directory such as OneDrive or SharePoint Online.

In Manager > Preferences - On the Security Tab make sure that "Save Configuration File After Load" and "Backup Files on Send" are both checked. I set the number of backups files to keep to 15 but you can adjust to preference.

This way you will have a cloud repository of all the system configs with a historic backup for when your engineers screw things up. [tongue]
