We have a G3 system that we are trying to fully automate. Does anyone know how to forward the "0" to a voice mail box. Also the console holds a four digit number that is not found in list stations. I need to forward that as well.
Thanks.....Steve

Steve, sounds like you need a little training...not a problem.

The way your calls come in is via a trunk group. That trunk group, whether it is analog or digital points to the ATTD or attendant during the day and probably an extension with coverage to voicemail at night.

It is in the trunk group forms that you repoint the calls to voicemail instead of the attendant.

List trunk
see what trunk groups you have. If copper, display the trunk group and you will see the incoming destination and night service destination on the first page. It is here that you make the changes.

Add another station that directly covers to your new auto attendant mailbox and then point the trunk groups incoming destination to it.

If it is an ISDN trunk group then the fourth or fifth page has the incoming destination form for all DID and incoming trunks. Here you may have the incoming destination as 0 or an extension for night service. Here you would repoint the incoming number to the extension accordingly.

Check it out and if unsure, follow the night service destination and see how this is programmed in these forms. The Day service should be set up similar.

Hi steve,

Assuming zero is defined as attd in the dialplan, you need to make the Listed directory number night destination the voicemail access code. This will forward dial zero calls plus any other attendant type calls into Audix. Assuming a 4 digit dialplan, this sends the digit string "0000" into voicemail. In the audix programming you need to set up an auto attendant business schedule. You can probably use the default, then set up an auto attendant routing schedule. In that schedule you enter 0000 and set the destination to the mailbox number you wish. This basically translates 0 to a mailbox number.

If you can't follow this send me an e-mail to paul.beddows@telus.com, I'll send you some excel implementation sheets with an example. We do this all the time to given an attendant a mailbox.

The four digit extension assigned to the attendant is found on the 'displ att x' command. You will see a field that says 'ext' and there it is
