Does anyone know if there is a way to automate a picklist or somehow to have the parameter lists updated dynamically?

Here's one of many threads on the subject: thread767-745438.

If you can find out what version of Crystal is to be used, and how you're going to deploy, someone might list the options available.

The version is 8.5, and it is deployed through EPortfolio. Currently we manually go through each report and update the default drop downs. It's not hard to do, but each time you change it, the report needs to be promoted back to Production. It is just tedious with having to do it manually to 14 different reports.

Hi,
Try using a database field to populate the default values;
That way only when the data itself changes do you need to update the list -

You can use custom code to present a dynamic drop-down list based on a connection to the datasource, but I am not sure how to add that code to ePortfolio. ( we use custom csp, asp and html pages, not ePortfolio)

We do associate a field from the database with the parameter field and that is the problem, when a new record gets added to the database, Crytal 8.5 does not have the functionality to automatically add that new record to the drop down list. I have read that it can be done using ASP pages, etc..., but we use EPortfolio. Wish we could use an ASP, but can't right now.
