In effort to accomplish the above, we have been searching for where NT gets its ip information from. Not in registry, and also did an advanced search of all drives.
Anyone have any idea where the ip address is stored? [sig][/sig]
Perhaps run a script to change an ip address. If we know where it is stored (ie. an inf file) we may find a way of changing it in an automated fashion. [sig][/sig]
What kjonnnn was asking is are you setting static addresses on every machine or are you using DHCP? [sig]<p> Jeff<br><a href=mailto: masterracker@hotmail.com> masterracker@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>If everything seems to be going well: you don't have enough information.......[/sig]
The IP address info is kept in the registry and is located in the parameters of the NIC driver.
ex. > HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\"NICDriver"\Parameters\TCPIP Keyword > IpAddress.
This info is in Hex format, which is why you may have not been able to find it. You can export a REG file from this key and import it (changed to what you want) via a login script ex. > regedit /s ipaddres.reg. However, I am not sure if it will require a reboot for the change to be in effect.
