I need to set a session/userid timeout on a Solaris 8 box after 30 minutes of inactivity. I'd imagine it'd be done by adding:

set autologout=30 in /etc/.cshrc

but alas, it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone offer any assistance.

Many Thanks

This was answered somewhere here recently, but I can't find it.

If you're using ksh, you can set the TMOUT environment variable to 1800 (timeout after 1800 seconds idle).

Greg.

Thanks, but unfortunately we're using the C shell. i'll keep searching!
