Autofs not mounting

Hi,

My autofs is not mounting the filesystems. Is there a way to stop the daemon and restart? Would this solve the problem? I do not want to reboot at this time.

To stop automountd (as root):
stopsrc -s automountd

To start automountd (as root):
startsrc -s automountd


AutoFS is a mess as far as I'm concerned.
Do you really need it?
