Autoexec.bat.old

Hi
I donno whether I am in right forum or not.. On my
system I find Autoexec.bat.old is being generated n number
of times under my c drive. I think around 40 to 60 files have been created autoexec.bat.old5, autoexec.bat.old6 and so on..
How do I resolve this

What OS are you using and have you run a virus scan (to eliminate that possibility for pint$ = 1 to 20
for pint$ = pint$ + 1
if pint$ = 20 goto HOME
next pint$
 
Sounds like you either have a virus or some program, probably a new installation, is acting up. Have you tried to install anything recently that did not complete for any reason? if so go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and see if it is listed, if so remove it. Also check the contents of your autoexec.bat and see if there is anything unusual there. If there is anything you do not understand you might post the full file here, somebody is sure to be able to help.
