I have a new user with an HP Officejet 4100. I modified the wstprn file to point his printer to a generic officejet drive (something that works for all previous HPs) My server is MetaFrame 8.1 on Windows 2000 server, and the remote machine is XP.

The printer autocreates and seems to print from the server end, but then it gets stuck in the queue on the local machine.

I have verified that the drive name is identical and that it is connceted to the corect port....

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,
Kristine

I think you mis a good driver. Try some other HP driver.....

Good luck

I am still having this problem. I tried 3 different drivers on the server. All 3 caused the printer to autocreate. The client is able to print form his local machine just fine. When he tries to print through MetaFrame it goes through the queue on the server and gets stuck in the queue on the local machine.

Aside from having him unistall & reinstall the printer on the local machine, does anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Kristine

I don't know of any compatible mapping you can do for this specific model.

Check here for all known good OfficeJet Mappings:

Here for all others:

And here for all Printing FAQ & Whitepapers:

Good reason to upgrade to a newer version of MetaFrame (XP or 3.0) so you can use the UPD & UPD II, or choose compatible printers when you make new purchases.

What version of the ICA client are you using? The 7.1 client had some issues that were fixed in 8.0. You may want to try a older client or the new client.

Hi Kristine-...
Take a look at the Universal Printing Driver made by Emergent On Line... They have a pretty solid line of products/software... Great people too!!

Hope this helps-
Brandon :)
