I need some help I have a Opt.61c machine that is used with a group of phones for Dispatcher's that on thier I hate to say old Rolm machine that had a Autoconference feature that the Nortel box does not have. Any suggestions that how you can confernce in 2 or 3 key 's connected to outside parties together. I know this is not a normal application but the customer wants this feature or their old Switch back.ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Start reading the old manuals...

Not possible with standard Nortel. You could try the conference bridge (MICB)...

Marc D. Thanks for the response I have a MICB on another switch that is CDP to that machine but that won't work my problem being thsi particular site is a control center for a power company and if I have a lineman in the field to denergize a feed to a substation and they need to interface via the dispatcher to another guy in the field during a crisis or similar situation they would need to be on the telephone with dispatch and whoever else is working on the line. Question can the Micb be left up all the time without scheduling? I have a 32 port MICB that is not used at all.Any other thoughts on this. Thanks!

I have never worked with the MICB (Although I have a MICB card without a dongle, which is collecting dust at the moment [sadeyes])

If you do not have a contact to/at Nortel, I could send an e-mail to a Nortel friend with your question if you want...

After reviewing all my old ROLM user guides I cannot come up with AutoConference, just 8 party conf only of which 2 may be outside calls. Call Join in the Meridian system allows you to connect 2 lines together using the Conf key.
These 2 can be internal or trunk calls No hold Conference keys are also used to connect a call with another while all are still on the line together. See if someone can explain exactly how they wetre performing this setup. They could be using auto dial and conf keys, etc..

Auto conference on the Rolm can be programmed on a RepDial key. (Flash,**3(group pickup),conf)(this happens so fast that the callers never hear a pause.)

As far as No hold conference on the Meridian, it is only for out going calls.

I work on the switch where smacgregor is talking about, the dispatchers need to be able to conference two or more outside lines with out putting the calls on hold.

Thanks.
