3. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "use inline autocomplete for web addresses" and "use inline autocomplete in Windows Explorer"
4. Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete
Entry: AutoSuggest
Value: no change from no to yes
DataType: STRING
Having the same exact issue with IE 6. The last comment didn't work for me, all those settings are already there, except the .Default, but that shouldn't matter.
I just fixed a similar problem using some of the information given by smitee.
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms
Entry: AskUser
Value: 1
This key was not present. I added the key, named it Intelliforms. Then I added the string value to the key and named it AskUser. I gave this a value of 1. When I tested this in Internet Explorer, it worked. Thanks.
