IE 5.5 with autocomplete set to "On"

Autocomplete will not save the entries. I tried to turn it off then back on but no luck. I originally had IE 5.0 so I installed IE 5.5 but same thing.

The history may be corrupt. Ty these steps:

1. right-click on the taskbar, choose properties, click the Start Menu Programs tab and click the Clear button.

2. To clear forms and passwords information, go to Tools>InternetOptions, click the Content tab, click the AutoComplete button, and choose Clear Forms and Clear Passwords. Uncheck all boxes.

3. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "use inline autocomplete for web addresses" and "use inline autocomplete in Windows Explorer"

4. Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

and delete any encypted entries that are listed in the right pane window.

Restart, then go back and enable the boxes again and verify it by checking the "use inlne autocomplte' entries.

Thanks for your response.

I tried your steps above but it doesn't work. Any other ideas?

Entry: AutoSuggest
Value: no change from no to yes
DataType: STRING

Having the same exact issue with IE 6. The last comment didn't work for me, all those settings are already there, except the .Default, but that shouldn't matter.

I just fixed a similar problem using some of the information given by smitee.
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms
Entry: AskUser
Value: 1
This key was not present. I added the key, named it Intelliforms. Then I added the string value to the key and named it AskUser. I gave this a value of 1. When I tested this in Internet Explorer, it worked. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I also have no IntelliForm i my registry.

Can the Intelliform be installed. Or what.

Please help

/Henrik

Copy between dotted lines to Notepad, save as Intelli.reg, double click resulting file, answer yes to merge, done.
