I have a problem, sometime when closing drawing the AutoCAD close with no question to save the other drawing that I have open. I have Acad 2002 and Swedish application called POINT on Windows 2000. Any suggestion ?
If the other drawings have not been modified since thier last save, AutoCAD will close them with out question.
The only way to avoid this is to be extreemly careful about which X you select to close a drawing.
Alternatively, you could add a minor command to the quick save button ie. change the code behind the quick save button to "_qsave z a z p " this will cause autoCAD to think the drawing has been modified and will ALWAYS ask you to save before it closes the drawing.

Hi !
Thank´s for the answer, but I think that I was a little unspecified with the question. AutoCAD is crashing when I closing one of the drawing that I have open is more like it.
I think this i more difficult to answer, I have seen on Autodesk forum that it maybe can have somthing with the Express tools to do, what do you think?
Does it happen all the time?
Does it happen with one specific drawing all the time?
When was the last time you rebooted the computer?
If you were losing data in the other files I would make the autosave time very short, like 1 minute, this would save all of you file every minute.
I would suggest that you may want to think about reinstalling AutoCAD if it crashes everytime you try to close it. I have had it crash once and a while, but the only time I've had it happen consistantly was with a corrupt drawing file. My solution was to select all the entities in the drawing file and copy clip them into a blank drawing. This fixed the problem for me.

It´s always happens after lunch, very strange. And it´s happen on any drawing. I turn off the computer every evening and start it in the morning. If I reboot the computer after lunch AutoCAD it´s working fine for the rest of the day.
I had this problem on a other computer a while ago, but it´s disapper when the hard disk broken and I reinstall the whole computer.
I wonder if your IS/IT department has some software running around this time of day? I had a similiar problem when a company I worked for used SMS from Microsoft. The fix was just to keep the program (SMS) from scanning or working in whatever directory AutoCAD was swapping files, (it was corrupting the files every time it looked in the swap file directory). I know many IS/IT departments run some audit routines checking for gaming software (I know many people like to play during lunch), so it's possible on this particular machine, it's causing some trouble.
