I have had music clips made for our auto attendant. My question is how do I get them from the CD I have them on into the system without all of the background noise? Is there some connector or a way to use the MOH port for this?

The setup is a Legend with a MLM 007 revision 3 mail system.

Also, is there anyway to upgrade the software in the mail system to the next revision? (just curious)

Thanks!

Question 1)

I use a MODIFIED 2500 (POTS) Set to interface from a T&R Extension to a PC (or, in your case, a CD Player).

Its not easy, but it can be done.

The way I do it is to save the CLIP to a WAVE FILE using TOTAL RECALL and then use TOTAL RECALL to pipe it to the Announcement.

Question 2)

There is no upgrade. You would have to buy a Merlin Messaging.

Bear in mind, there are several releases of that product, the latest is R4.

IT IS NOT CHEAP, but it does have MANY MORE bells & whistles than the 007 MLM.

Look on eBay for a "Telephone Hybrid", Gentner is a popular brand. You want a device that a radio station uses to feed audio to/from a phone line to/from sound equipment.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Merlinman, I have tried this with an MLX set, and the audio quality is really bad. I assume that the POTS set would be better if plugged into an analog port on the merlin (like a 016 card). Is this correct?

TouchToneTommy, those things are expensive for a maybe once a year thing... :) I understand that people actually rent these things out... Maybe that is what may make sense.. Thank you for the info!

Thanks!

Pots into Analog port, correct.

The sound quality WAS NOT PERFECT, but it worked fairly well.
