Hi, I have an original primary R9 system am adding a new second site over SCN.

I will have trunks on the second site, and would like to direct incoming calls on the new secondary site over the SCN to an auto-attendant on the original primary system.

Is that possible, and if so is it recommended from a reliability perspective (or would VM Pro make more sense here)

Thanks in advance for the advise.

Forgot to say most importantly both sites are running Essential edition, we can look at Preferred VM Pro if recommended/more reliable (but they will need a proper server not their crappy desktop)

You'd need to make one site preferred edition, which is standard practice anyway when clustering sites together.
Once this is done, using the VMPro as AA on either site would be fine.

For voicemail in an SCN Avaya only supports VMPro. Multiple embedded voicemails can be made to work but you're totally on your own for support.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Point the remote trunk to shortcode *99 which is set to dial *99 down the SCN trunk line gp, on the main system create shortcode *99 to go to the AA ......done, obviously the codes can be changed :)
