auto signature

Im trying to add a disclaimer as a constant fixture, and the senders name, and email as a variable from a central point(server, not every workstations auto sig option in outlook). Is this possible? Im getting mixed responses but none that say how to do it!!!

It is posible to add the disclaimer using the IMSEXT.DLL in Resource Kit but as for adding each users email address and Name as a variable, you will have to use Outlook autosignature - Microsoft is not that bright.

Nemx Power Tools for Exchange (Advanced Edition) also provides the capability to provide a disclaimer on all outbound messages. It's a graphical tool as opposed to using the IMSEXT.DLL method and manually editing the registry. However, it too is limited in that you cannot use variables such as an email address.

im kinda a bit dubious of twiddling with the serv reg just for the sake of a disclaimer. Does anybody have any info on known (if there are any)problems using the imsext.dll method?

I have used this method (IMSEXT.DLL) in a production environment without experiencing any problems. I have also dealt with other Exchange Administrators who have used the same method without problems. If you want, I can email you documentation on exactly how we set it up, notes that we took during testing, etc.

I have implemented it successfully using the zip file I have now emailed to mantislee who will hopefully post it on the Internet for all to see.

It is significantly easier than installing Exchange server. And I thought that was easy too....

Hi everyone!! i've tested the imsext.dll and it works.
However, there's a doubt....on modifying the corporate message in the registry.
since it's a string value, how do i modify it in such a way that it includes "carriage return" as well?

eg.

This email is confidential.....<carriage return>
*******************<carriage return>

Late in day looking at the dates but I have been asked to provide this facility on out Exchange 5.5 SP 3
The trouble is it is an Alpha NT4.

Does anyone know of a link to an Alpha imsext.dll ?
