We recently signed up for a live answering service to handle after hours call support. Is it possible to have a number ring to an internal set during the day, then automaticaly based on a schedule foward the call to the live answering service's 1800 number after normal business hours?

The short term we just manually foward the line at the end of the day to the external number, but i don't want to rely on someone doing this every night.

We have a Norstar Modular ICS 4.0.

Not that I'm aware of, but I believe your carrier can do this for you.

Don't know for sure if you can do this on DR4.0 (4.1 works for sure) but here goes:
-In routing service set up dial out and dest code to go you answering service
-create ring group with only ext. to be forwarded
-make sure this set has "allow redirect" turned on under capabilities
-next make sure "night" is on auto
-under common settings set up night service and schedule start/stop times
I've used this set up a number of times and it works well

GOOD LUCK

nice work around Brutalis, I would also add FNA for that phone just incase someone came along and took Call Forward off by accident.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I'm a little confused on how it knows that when the phone (5060 in our case) rings to use the dest code/route i created that points to the answering service.

on a side not this is a seperate number(support) from the name office number(general info) but i guess i can just use a second schedule diff from the night ring?

I think Brutalis was refering to a phone that no one uses that would always stay forwarded to the number you wanted. Then have that phone and the lines in the same ring group. This way when you go into night mode it should follow what that phone is set for.

Thanx Hawks for the clairification. Every time I've used this method is by way of a unused set dedicated to this purpose.
