In a previous version of Outlook I believe there was the option to have the system look at the name of the recipient as you typed it. The system would check your entry, letter by letter, and when it found a match in the contact/address book it would automatically fill that name in, saving you from typing the person's full name. Does anyone know if this feature is available in Outlook 2000? I am having trouble finding a place to set that preference???

sdear,

This should help you out.

Turn on or off automatic name checking
On the Tools menu, click Options.

Click the Preferences tab, click E-Mail Options, and then click Advanced E-Mail Options.

Select or clear the Automatic name checking check box.

AutoComplete is not available in OL2000. Unfortunately you need to click Tools, Check Name after typing the first 3 letters or more of the last name. Then Outlook will look at your global address book for that person. If there is more then 1 entry for the letters you type you must select who you want the email to go to. OL2002 has this feature (incase you wanted to know). -Brad
