Auto Fill Field by using Table

I am trying to create a form that will automatically fill a second field.

Example. I have a table of 500 sign codes and associated meaning. R1 = Stop Sign, R2 = Speed Limit Sign.

I would like to be able to add a new record by typing R1 into the form and have Stop Sign appear in the next field.

It also sounds like this my be a good place for a combo box instead
