I have many, many, many years on the Serenade side of the house and only a couple on the Aria side, in the 200/300 I can setup an auto copy/auto delete.. letting the caller record a message in one mailbox then after the caller has hung up the message is transfered by the system out of that MB and into another. I need to find a way to do this in the 250/350. I have a MB that messages need to be left completely anonymous, currently the envelope will play the name and MB number of the person that left the message. If I where able to auto copy the message from another MB the envelope should only play the MB that the message was auto copied from? Or at least that's what I'd like to see happen.
can this be done???

The only way to do this is to use network call fwd. You will need to setup a network node that points to it self. Then network fwd the mailbox to node x mb xxxx. When you leave a message it will fwd it to the other dest and it will show as comiing from the forwarded mailbox.

Only way i know to do it.

Yeah, I had thought about that, but I was trying to stay away from the message going out and comming back in. Ok thanks. I'll keep looking I'm sure there must be a way to remove calling party ID inside the Call Manager. Thanks again.

Another way is to use an Octel Designer application, but unless you already have the OAS and Visual Messenger, it probably would be cost prohibitive.

Oh yes VERY $$$ prohibitive!!! but than ks for the suggestion.

You could also just setup a port with a type 6 and have it port monitored by the type 0 mailbox they are to send to. Or have a d I d number pointed to it so there would not be any caller ID from the person that left the message.

???Ken what your saying is:
dedicate a port to each number I need to have the caller ID striped from? seems a little port intensive? or could I use one or two ports and direct several DID's to them??? like I said earlier I have many years on the Serenade side of things, this would take about 10 seconds to set up on that. your saying to set up a port as a type 6? line type? if you could explain in just a little more detail that would really help.
Thanks!

A line type 6 is a pots line without any integration. I assume that this is some kind of HR line that is anonymous so you do not want the caller ID in any way. If that is the case how many mailboxes are you using or do you need to setup? Also do you have digital networking turned on and do you have a LAN card in the system?

By using a LT 6 it will not recive any caller info but i need to know what kind of PIC cards you have also.

Your right this is an HR thing, no this system does not have a LAN or digital networking. I'll need about 15 +/- and the cards are FLT8's, so if I,m understanding you correctly I would need to dedicate a port per MB?

I think there are many ways to do this. You could setup a type 31 MB and have the users dial a outside number that would just be pointed to the type 31 and then have them press an option to go right to the type 0 mailbox. It should leave a message with out any caller ID but that would depend on the number sent from a user at your site.

This would also give the user the impression that they are dialing outside and not to a internal number that could be tracked.

This would not make you use any ports just for this application.

If you need more help let me know or go to our web page and send a message to info
