I have an auto attendant that, when callers press 0, routs them to our receptionist (m2616 set). if our office is closed (such as labor day), if someone calls in and presses 0, since our office is closed, the call goes back to the auto attendant. However, we do have a help desk that is staffed even when the office is closed (the help desk is not manned 24/7 but they are open on holidays for a few hours). we do NOT use holiday greetings on the auto attend. what is the easiest, least confusing way for callers to reach the help desk when the office is closed and they press 0? should I just have someone manually forward the M2616 to the help desk DN? the only thing is, if they forget to unforward it, i don't want callers going to the help desk mailbox. Please advise. thank you

How about setting the autoattendant as some sort of a Queue with 1 agent and then using NCFW to route it to the hell desk?

"It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you."

Is this a menu or an announcment w/revert to "0"?

no announcement. We have M2250 consoles manned by OPERATORS. When they go on NITE callers get the auto attendant. If they press 0 they go to x2312 (M2616 RECEPTIONIST--two different things, operators and receptionist). x2312 fna's to voicemail but, since there's no actual mailbox, callers hear the auto attend again.

You can use TOD options in MMail, or you can change the Revert number in the Announcement programming. There are a couple of ways to do this.

TOD won't work as this would only be for holidays and I'd have to change it every time we had a holiday. Neither would revert, as if I revert it to the help desk and the help desk is not staffed, callers will go to help desk mailbox. thanks anyway.

hi
i would think that callers calls your main nummer get in mail in nit. service press 0 to get to receptionist,if you make fna to helpdesk or even cfw to helpdesk, and helpdesk closed just make reseptionist nummer in mails dn tabel point to main nummer that would give right tretment.

Thanks bpg1, but I honestly have to say that I cannot understand what you are trying to tell me to do.

hi
you said that the attendt was gone,so in nite service,i asume that in nite service the calls goes to mail, and that you give the tretment off saying you called outside office hour but press 0 to get the receptionoist,if this is the case, what i was sayig is:i.e. main number is 7000,nit nunber 7999(mail),you have a voice menu 7000 in that press 0 for receptionist number of recp.is 7011,you cfw to helpdesk 7111 that is close too and 7111 points to mail(7999),you can then in mail voice dn tabel point 7011 to an menu saying we are closed.because when you press 0 in mail the id of the call becomes 7011 even if it goes to helpdesk by cfw or forward no answer.

Are you talking about meridian mail? cause we have an octel 250.

hi
sorry i don`t know octel 250,but would the id of call not be a new one if you press 0?

Might want to set up a voice mail box for x2312. Set the zero out number to the help desk.

Meridian Mail on 61c....how do we set the 0 option on mailboxes to a specific extension?
Thanks
Tom
