Hello again,

I'm still tinkering with out IP Office system, now trying to set up our call-receiving and voicemail handling...

I've created an auto-attendant, using VM Lite (for now), that is designed to let users pick which user to call. It creates the *811 etc shortcodes for setting the AA prompts, but dialing this number just puts me at the VM box for the extension I'm dialing from. The "dialed number" shows me as connected to the AA, but I don't see how I'm supposed to set the prompts (which I'm assuming should be voice recordings of "You have reached our company, dial 1 for Chip, Dial 2 for Dale, etc".)

I hate how technologically inept this phone system is making me feel. It shouldn't be this difficult for people to maintain their own phone systems. (sorry, /rant off)

I could be wrong, but in reading here
it does not look like VM-Lite provides any sort of Auto-Attendant or routing features

Voicemail Lite is provided as an unlicensed application on the IP Office Administrator's CD.
Key features are:
Does not require a license key.
Maximum Message Length = 120 seconds:
The Voicemail Lite is restricted to a maximum message length of 120 seconds for any message.
Maximum of 4 Simultaneous Users (2 on IP 401)
See Number of Simultaneous Voicemail Users.
Runs mailboxes in IP Office mailbox mode only. Voicemail Pro is required for Intuity emulation mode.
Supports basic voicemail email (MAPI only).
Runs as a server program only (Voicemail Pro runs as a service on Windows NT/2000 platforms).
Supports basic mailbox customization :
Pin code.
Ringback.
Reception.
Voicemail On/Off.
Email address.
Voicemail email on/off.

jml2665...this is vm lite with the embedded card.
Make sure you dont have any conflicting shortcodes. Try creating a second AA and access via the new shortcodes created..

Yah... I was reading that (and unsure) myself. VM Lite doesn't specifically talk about AA, but embedded VM does. We should be able to use them, because embedded voicemail is a feature of "Small Office Edition", which the our phone system box has stamped on it, but I find no mention of how it interacts or should be used with VM Lite.

As for shortcodes, the AA shortcodes have no conflicts, and dialing any of the 16 SC's (I created 4 testing AAs) gives me a couple "bleeem bleeem" tones and kicks me to the extension's voicemail.

In any case, I'm going to install the VM Pro demo and see if the boss might want to go with that instead (even though added complexity is not what I want right now).

VM Lite Does not support ant form of Auto attendant

Embeded VM is for the SoE & The IP406V2 & requires the flash memory card to work.

sounds like you might need to upgrade the embedded card to match the sw on SO
