Right now we have 3 digit extensions, starting with a 2 or 3. I have not been able to get our Main Greeting Menu to work like I want it to.

IE: I want to be able to use a 2 or a 3, right now if a caller hits 3,4,5 it assumes you want to dial an extension. So I am using 1 for dial by name, 2 for support and 7 for sales.

I would like to use, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and still be able to dial an extension at any time. Is there anyway to do that without re-doing my extension config??

In your menu how are your DTMF tomes set.
1
2
3
4
5
6
7

Do you have one as Number??
eg 9??

DTMF tomes? Not sure what you are referring to.

My main menu is
1
2
6
7
0
999
61

3??
4??
5??

Have you set the "touch-tone time out" with the number of seconds to wait for a key press? Find it in the properties for menu under Touch Tones tab.

Yes, its set to 5 seconds. But I still cant get it to work right.

Ok, you hit 345, you have touch tones in the menu as 3??

Its doing what its told as spec.

In Dial extension direct situations, I would like to suggest a following example.

Welcome to ProvidersReborn Shop of love tools.
Please listen carefully to the following options.
-Please press 1, If you wish to dial by name.
-To dial the users extension direct please dial this now.
(If you have 200/300 range you would need a 2?? and 3?? in your VM Pro menu touch tones.)
-For Sales press 4
-For Returns press 5 or hold for operater.

Leave a 4/5 second time out.

In your touch tones you could then have
1
2??
3??
4
5

Am I following your scenario correctly.

Use multiple menu actions. In the first have 2 and 3 lead to additional menu actions. In those collect the next two digits or timeout to whatever 2 and 3 should do otherwise.

1st Menu 2nd Menu 3rd Menu
======== ======== ========
2 => 2nd Menu ?? => Trans 2$key ?? => Trans 3$key
3 => 3rd Menu Timeout => whatever Timeout => someone

Will still always be less than ideal as anyone pressing 2 for support will have to wait until your attendant realises no more digits are coming which won't create a good impression of support. I would just have "To dial an extension press 5 followed by the extension number" in the first menu and route that to a separate module for extension dialing.

What do I need to put on vmpro to make the dial by extension work right?

I have 2 going to a menu that has 3?? 4?? 5?? but when I hit 2 and try to enter an extension it drops the call.

Any help?

I would use my example as a test, or Sizbuts (nice example)

In your transfer tab off of 2?? or 3?? ensure specific is set to $Key

Thankyou ProviderReborn! Star for you, everything is working like it should now.

Follow the above from sizbut it works.
have 3 goto a menu with ?? and a time out then the transfer is 3$KEY for ?? and the time out will have a transfer to the group you want
do the same with 4 and 5 also
