Hi. I have intuity audix and I used Auto attendant. It rings once then picks up. I want the phones to ring 2-3 times before Audix picks up so caller ID can register. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Thanks Jake
im nost using Merlins CID i have only 2 CID boxes one at my desk the other in the phone room. I want to dellay the AUDIX pick up. So CID has time to get the info.... Thanks
Well, the usual way is to remove the lines/pool from the Voice Mail calling group, reassign them to another (empty) calling group, and have that new calling group do a time-based overflow to the voice mail calling group. Create a mailbox with an extension number that matches that new calling group, and send it to the auto attendant. That works with Merlin Mail/Messaging, with Audix I think the Audix programming is a little different, but this will delay the calls getting to the Audix in the first place.
The timming on this post is perfect for me. I needed the same info. I don't know what what CID is and the solution Tommy posted quite frankly scare me.
I did find the delay answer in the audix admin menu:
Sys Admin
Delay answer
AA Port
Set to delay. Previously, I was getting 2 rings over the night bell then the call would txfr to the AA. Now it rings 4x on the night bell and then txfrs to the AA.
Ideally, I'd like to setup a "schedule" that allows for a dozen rings (or so) on the night bell then AA during business hours. This would allow users, who frequently aren't near phones to answer the calls. At night a reasonable 4 rings then AA.
All i want to do is change a menu option. I want to change the number of rings from 1 to 3. I can acces audix intuity though Craft and i use a mlx-20L to program the legend system. I use externel caller ID boxes. The audix AA picks up to fast and my caller id boxes can't get the info. The caller ID is in no way connected to the Legend.
Hey ArmyITGuy, I don't know Audix very well, but if you change it to answer delayed in the Audix, doesn't that mean users trying to log in and get their messages also have to wait 4 rings before getting answered?
Hey, The proper way to do this is the way tommy said. It's very easy.
Just assign your trunks to a calling group.
Set your overflow to the voice mail calling group number.
Set yout number base, time base, call base, overflow. Number to 1, time to about 30, and amount of callers to 99.
Very easy! ... Or
Assign lines to operator or virual ext., set line/principal user to the ext., add VM box for the ext. and set to a auto attendant.
Then just adjust the cover delay in the system to adjust the amount of rings to the auto attendant.
I don't ever like relying on a VM for any kind of timing.
That did not work it just keeps rining. Couly you please describe what the process is step by step i think i missed one small bit. Its obvious but i am missing something...
Here is how system is set up now. Trunk 801 has automated attendant. Trunk 802 has no voice mail or auto attendant. trunk 804 has one general mailbox. When you dial the number for trunk 801 it rings once then goes to automated attendant. There are options for three different extensions which have differnet covering extensions. If there is no awnser at Ext 104,103 or 111 each has its own voice mail box. I am using key mode and the automatated attendats are 130 for the day and 132 for after hours. Note that there are no operator phones nor is there phones for 130 or 132 they are dummy extensions for Auto attendant.
I want that to work the same way. I just want it to ring 3 times on the callers end before auto attendant picks up. I dont want anything here to ring unless you select an extension from the auto attendant. I belive that i am using group 770 and 30. with 104,103, and 111 as senders. Its an itergrated VM.
THANKS FOR THE HELP. But i dont want to go chaning all these settings as it took me alot of work just to get this far-- unless somone can give me a plan that will have everything above work the same way- but with a ring dellay of atleast 3.
Ok- the extensions that have vm boxes are 104, 103 and 111. I used group 30 and call group 770. I took lines/trunks out or extension 104 and call group 770.
Ok so i assume that i should change extesnion 104 to a different extesnion that is not programed as an opertaotor
Ok now how do i get auto attendant to pick up, as it no longer does? Thanks Jake
So the auto attendants you want to answer are but not ringing enough. You're using the routing tables in the Audix??
Ok, dont' use those routing in the audix. Set the operator ext. to 130, make sure 130 is part of cover group 30, and set the cover delay the amount of rings you want and just see what happens. Tell me what happens then?
