Hi, I have configured an Auto Attendant system which works fine when the main switchboard is placed onto nights. I used the NIT1 variable to point to the DN of the AutoAttendant I had configured and it works ok. This was put in place to cover a receptionist who will be away for several weeks so what I want is for this to work between the hours of 9am-5pm, and then a different message which says "Office is now Closed" etc for the rest of the time.

Can anybody tell me how I configure my Meridian opt 11c to do this ? Is it a case of configuring a different NIT etc ?

yes

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Thanks for the quick response, is it possible you could elaborate on your response ?

Possibly give me some instructions, hints etc ?

Hello fellow UK Meridian programmers. There are a number of ways to do this. One way is to have more than one NIT DN programmed in, using a different start/ stop time.
NIT1 could be 00:00 to 08:59 pointing to a Mail ACD queue for an announcment / Message Mail Box,
NIT2 would be 09:00 to 17:00 for a Auto Attendant menu &
NIT3 to be 17:01 to 23:59 with the same function as NIT1.

The only drawback with this, is at the weekend!.

Another way might be to use the Time Of Day (TOD) function in Meridian Mail via menu id's etc. This may well be the better method for your requirements.

All the best

How is the main number being controlled and what is the path the number takes to get to it destination?
Example: Main number is a CDN. The CDN is controlled by CCR. Script in CCR determines were the number goes during what time and what day. I would sugest starting from where the number begins in your switch and follow it.
