How do you make these codes work? I have created them, CORs and all the goodies. The thing is, how does the system knows to prompt me for these codes? Help.
You can press # sign after dialing the number indicating that you ar finish entering the digits you wish to dialed. Make sure that the FRL on your routing pattern is 3.
When I finish dialing the number, I get "waived off" tone. The FRL is 3 on the routing pattern that I am using for testing. Is there something in the COR that I have to check in order for the system to know that calls can be completed by inputing an authorization code??
If the FRL should be 3 depends on the FRL in the COR of the extension!!
When normally a call is blocked because the FRL doesn't allow it, auth. codes will provide dial tone and after presiing the code the number will go through.
1. Login to definity and enabled authorization codes..
command: change system-parameters features
locate below field and set it yes and put the code lengh you want to have for auth code..
Authorization Codes Enabled? y
Authorization Code Length: 5
2)When you make a call, there two cor which decides the FRL value...ie COR of originating station and the COR you have put in the route pattern. inacse station FRL(COR) is equal or greater than FRL in route patten, your call will go trough without putting anything..Incase station FRL is less than FRL set in route pattern, you will get a second dial tone to put the auth code...
Note: when you create auth codes, you assign a cor also, so FRL of Auth code (COR of Auth code)needs to be equal or greater than the FRL of route pattern.
Avaya2004 - I have set all the things that you mentioned above, and I am still getting a waive off tone. I even checked the trunk group to make sure the option for authorization codes was set to YES. I don't know what else to check. Thank you.
When I did mine I created a COR with an FRL of 0 on the station and then for the Authorization code we gave that one a COR with a FRL of 3. Most of our routing patterns have a higher FRL than, except for patterns that route callers to our other campuses. There might be more but I am only concerned with ones that allows dialing off campus.
Also, outward calling restrictions on the station's COR should be set to 'none' and also on the COR that the authorization code is using. If not you would get a wave off regardless of auth codes being enabled.
Probably stuff already said, but if not I hope it helps.
I don't have the trace option. But here are the print screens:
