Dear all.

we down loaded the 3.2 & upgraded the system 406 V2.

When try to look for Authorization codes it does not show,

As manual said modify in the registry, I looked at registry it does not show EnableAuthorisationCodes
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Avaya\IP400\Manager\EnableAuthorisationCodes and change its value from 0 to 1.
In registry i can see only mrecordaccountcode.

Pls can anybody guide me to enable the Authcodes.

Thanks In advance
Regards
DS

Deltaserver,

In the new Manager tool go to,
File
Advanced
Security

Select your IP Office.

Then you will see all Authorization codes

Dear Dencom2.
Thanks for the quick answer, but still we cant find the Auth codes,
As my knowledge but i may be wrong, the security is only to set security on the IPO with Groups & rights this is nothing to do with Auth Codes.

Pls can anybody suggest me to enable the Auth codes,we need it very badly we have some extns in the open area those extns are opned for ISD dialing, any body can make ISD calls using his/her codes, our bill is increasing month by month.

I belive Auth codes can controll this

I've just tried this and the authorisation codes appear in the bottom of the tree.

I've tested in a UK locale

To revisit this issue, I'm trying to setup Authorization Codes and force them against particular short codes within a User Rights entry. Unlike with System short codes, where I see a "Force Authorization Code" option, there is no such option within the UserRights short codes - just "Force Account Code."

I've made the change to the registry.

I guess the question is: When applying an Authorization Code to a UserRights entry - is the Authorization Code mandatory for EVERY call from a user with that particular UserRights? I'd like to be able to specify what short codes within the UserRights require the auth. code (e.g., required for International calls, not for local calls).

the wording in the Help files seems a bit contradictory to what I'm experiencing:

To Force Authorization Codes on Specific Calls
To require entry of an authorization code on a particular call or call type, the Force Authorization Code option should be selected in the short code settings. This can be used in user, user rights or system short codes in order to apply its effect to a user, group of users or all users respectively. You need to ensure that the user cannot dial the same number by any other method that would by pass the shortcode, for example with a different prefix.

Any suggestions appreciated

You can enable forced Auth codes only in the user telephony tab, not in the user rights settings.
Auth codes are personel codes and can be set in short codes "force auth code" wich implies that only users assigned a auth code cab call this number after entering their personal auth code.

??? My system allows the auth codes to be associated with User Rights (and therefore all users associated with that user rights).

Short codes the same, the 'Force Authorization Code' option is available for User Rights short codes.

System is United Kingdom locale.
