I have a customer with dorm phones for students and some admin phones. The phones are assigned to a location in which local calls go out a route pattern (80) which consists of a trunk group with copper co trunks as the first route and a PRI trunk group as the second route. The customer would like the local calls from the dorm rooms to go out the copper co trunks first, but they would like the admin phones to go out the PRI trunks as they wish to send their caller ID for callbacks.
I know I could use FRLs, with the dorm phones as an FRL of say 4, equal to the FRL of the first route, the copper trunks. Then have the Admin phones an FRL of 3 equal to the second route, the PRI trunks. The hitch is the site is setup to use Auth codes and they don't want the admin people to have to dial a code. My question is, if I set it up as described above, when the Admin users dial out will the call skip down to the second route or will it attempt to go out the first route and prompt the users for an Auth code to dial out the first route?
Any help is appreciated.
