Authentication in Apache2 virtual hosts

I have used htpasswd to create a user and password into a password file, and now my attempts to make my directory entry at httpd.conf working have been useless.

I'm using Virtual Server, so I am not sure where to place the lines.

Can anyone give me some hint?
