Hi
I amb starting to feel incompetetent

I have a 9608 at home. I have VPN with the office. (site to site)
New H323 extension created. End point and power user licenses available.
User created for this extension.

Passwords for telephone at the extension tab, user and telephony/supervisor are the same and easy to dial.
When I try to login I get "authenticaion error". I am sure I don't make a password mistake.

At the monitor I activated h323 events, sumary tracing and H323 and H245 packets.
The result after a login attempt :

12571573mS H323Evt: Recv GRQ from 192.168.xx.yyy:49301
12571573mS H323Evt: e_H225_AliasAddress_dialedDigits alias
12571573mS H323Evt: found number <350>
12571632mS H323Evt: H323PhoneUser Operational: Src=192.168.xx.yyy:35281 Dst=aa.bb.ccc.200:1300
12572081mS H323Evt: H323PhoneUser TLSOperational: Src=192.168.xx.yy:35281 Dst=aa.bb.ccc.200:1300 Resumed=false

Any Idea about why authentication fails ?

2 Things to check are under System|LAN1|VOIP.
Remote H323 enabled and H323 TLS Signalling is disabled.

Thanks a lot.

I was affraid because I have other 3 phones working properly, but in their case, the vpn is the built-in and this one I amb in a different vpn.

So, the matter was tue H323 tls signaling.

Solved !!

That option is there for a reason. So now you have a system with insecure H.323 signaling which could be hacked. The proper response is to have a suitable certificate on the phone and turn H323 TLS back on.
