Authenticate to use switch port

Hi. I have 2 6500 series switches a 6509 & 6506. I was curious if I can configure a port to where a user would have to enter a username and password before they can use that port? I am not sure what the correct terminology for this is so I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
