Hello all.
I've been tasked with setting up authorizatioin codes for our company for after hours M-F(6 pm - 6 am) and all day Saturday and Sunday.

I believe the configuration order is AUB, SAR, then AUT. Then change the TNs.

I need help with the SAR.

The NTPs are not very helpfull. I think I set up the AUB correctly. Here it is:

I did alot of hair pulling setting this up also. This is a prt of what I ended up with. If you look I have 3 SAR groups. If you read grp1 goes 11:00p to 6:30a, grp2 8:45p to 5:45a and grp3 8:45p to 7:45a. You have to do it in more than one OFFP because the start time can not be a higher number than the stop time. During thease time I restricted the phones to CLS FR1, normaly they are CTD. This restsrics them to in-house and tie lines only. You have to put the SAR number in the progaming of the phone at SGRP.

The XXXX is my password that I can use to bypass the restriction on the phone.
Hope this helps. It took me a couple of days of trial and swearing before I got it.

svhtech,
Thanks for the info. I made some progress but another project took priority for the last couple of weeks. I was able to program a schedule that covers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 but not sure what days of the week they actually cover. Does 1=Sunday, 2=Monday, etc.?

My biggest problem is that I can't test any of this myself. I'm doing this remotely from 400 miles away and having someone else test it for me. I set him up with an auth code of 555555555 (9 fives) but I can't seem to get it to work.

How can I find out the code to have him enter during the time that the SAR is blocking him?

Thanks again for any help.

Why such a long auth code ? You need to dial your SPRE code (#1)?, before the auth code. 1 is Sunday

The auth code will be people's 9-digit SSN (not my policy). I printed my CDB from LD 21 to get the SPRE;

DGRP 50
IRNG NO
PKND 1
SPRE 11 (Is this the code they should dial?)
PREO 0
BPSS NO

I also printed LD 57 FFC:

REQ prt
TYPE ffc
CUST 0
CODE auth
CUST 00
FFCT YES
AUTH **57 (or is this the code they should dial?)

I had him dial "11" and he gets a busy signal.

Sorry, I've never used auth codes on this PBX. I'm not even sure the order they should be dialing after hours. For example, do they just dial the number as usual, then the system gives them a tone in anticipation of the auth code?

Or do they have to know that it's 6 PM so they need to dial the SPRE code first then their auth code, then the number?

Thanks.....

Sorry, I gave you the wrong codes. The factory default for FFC AUTH is SPREE+6. But it looks like yours was changed to **57. So you would have to dial 11**57 then the 9 digit code. Thats 15 digits just to get dial tone !! Why don't you change you AUTH to one digit. They're pretty free with SSN's. Haven't you heard of Identity theft ?

I'll test this out tomorrow and let you know how it works. As far as the codes, I've tried to convince our Telecom Manager that using SSN is not a great idea. He won't budge. I guess he feels that nobody will share this code.

If you use Spree code 11 - you would dial 11,6,auth-code,hear dial tone, dial 9+number (assuming you use 9 for bars access)

If ussing FFC Code **57 - you would dial **57,auth-code,hear dial tone, dial 9+number (assuming you use 9 for bars access)

ssn is a real bad idea, anyone could steal all the numbers and cause much hate and discontent. if you do get hacked, no need to give away the bank.. just a shock to hear anyone do that.
