Hi experts,
I have IPO Rel 8 with basic auto attendant /Essential edition /No voicemail pro.
SIP trunk 10 DID / 10 DOD
My requirement is when someone calls main number auto attendant will answer, play a welcome message and ask the caller to press any digit.
ON selecting 1 i want to transfer the call to another branch office toll free number same applies for 2-9.
Is it possible to do it from auto attendant, i don't want to transfer the call to an extension and the do an unconditional forward to the branch office toll free as the phone will used only for this purpose.

iam happy i am here...

What's the problem with an unconditional forward on a phantom user?
It's not like anyone will notice, unless you tell them.

Some AA's allow you to put in a short code in the action field, you can try that instead.
Lets say *9001/ Dial/ Toll-free-number-1/ ARS (or line grp ID)

(I think it's possible on some versions of R8.0)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Gunnar ,
The site was managed by another company, when i checked they had 10 ip phones on a table which were configured only for the purpose of unconditional forward, do we really need physical phones to do this task, is there another way ? They want to use that phones for some new employees and don't want to buy new phones.

Like Gunnar said you but in destination a short code.
It works on 8.1 and 9 i'm not sure on 8, test it.

Also shortcodes can be alphanumeric, so I use names to avoid people dialling shortcodes accidently and for ease of programming, for example:

SC - Middlesbrough
Feat - Dial
Tel number - 01642123456
Line Gp - 0

I target "Middlesbrough" from ICR or auto attendants :)

You don't need handsets attached to do unconditional forwards from a user. I imagine that was so they could change the forwarding number, but 1 handset could be used and simply log different users on....:)

Thanks experts,
I will create phantom user and solve the problem, they are only worried about 10 phones on a table used for forwarding...[3eyes]

Also i will try the shortcode method gunnar and amriddle suggested.

Maapi, just give it an extn number, dialling short code (if there are no system wide), set a login code and Unc.fwd.

But a direct short code is way better, I think it's working on 8.0.44 and higher.
Can't test right now, but I have a feeling you're already logged into your system doing it:)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Waiting for the VPN to be up, will test both options below and update today or tomorrow.

1) Will create phantom user and set forwarding,
2) Set short code to do the forwarding.

You can do this straight from the attendant as well with essential edition. Just change option 1 to tranfer and then for the destination manually enter the toll free number with any dial out code you might be using (9 for an outside line, etc). I have done this for doctor's offices so that at night they can transfer to the on-call doctor with a simple press of a button.

that great telecomboy, now i have 3 ways to do it , will update about all these three solutions soon...
