Good morning all.

I am considering going to Aura Messaging. Currently I have an old Intuity and MM 5.1 with Exchange integration running together for my messaging. I am pretty sure (although no one can say for sure on either box) that having both is causing problems. I understand that with Aura Messaging I can program users as extensions vs. having to go into AD. Is this correct? That’s the main reason I still have both running. Any other benefits?

Anyway I would like you opinion. Would this IYO be a good move or should I wait for whatever they come out with next?

I appreciate your time and replies.

With AAM you can have flexible storage on a per user basis.
You dont go into AD. You create an AD admin acct and load a voice form for exchange users

I would move to the
AAM now.

It is much less trouble than the MM with Exchange. And as kepetersen has said you can pick what storage you want Avaya message or Exchange.

You can also use ASA or Provision to add the users or change users if you want to.

You said you are having issues now with both just wondering what that is? Also with the AAM you can have different sites with variable length mailbox and station numbers.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll have to say that MM hasn't exactly been the best thing that I have ever installed here. I think you both know Josh. He did the install and thats not the problems I have been having. He did a great job. To me it looks like having both systems running creates a conflict in mail delivery "sometimes". I have to reboot both systems to get it resolved for both systems. If that makes since. Then both deliver their messages without any problems.

Were a hospital here so we have areas that have three different shifts working one set. Thats why I still have Intuity running for those areas. I have a couple of groups setup, but that is a work around and like most it works most of the time. Another problem is we don't control our AD. We have to get another group (not here) to make those changes. PITA to get something done basically which also doesn't help in the grand scheme of things.

I'm looking into replacing both with something not as complicated and I here that AMM is better in that aspect. Too many things have to work or MM doesn't. If you were to design this, would you use the Avaya messing storage with the information I have given you? Also would the next load be a better one to go to than whats out now?

Thanks again guys. I appreciate it.

I would do it now and use the Avaya message store. You can always set up the exchange service account and then move users over if you like.

It is not as dependent on the permissions as MM is(once it is working it is hard to mess it up) it uses a impersonation account and it is much more tolerant if the exchange does not respond right away.

But no more AD interaction on the admins part.

Even with the Avaya store you can still send the VM to your email account it just will not turn the MWI out unless you take action on the messages.

You could also use Mutare EVM plus with GisTT on the users that are Avaya message store.

Thanks Ken. I guess now I would like to see a screen shot of the subscribers form. Something that could show me how to program a user for either email delivery or just the MWI. You guys happen to have one you could send me??

Again, I appreciate it.
