Good morning to all. We have just upgraded our PBX from and Option 11 to a CS1000E. I was thinking that this was a great time for me to propose to upper management to invest in going to the Attendant PC instead of the 2250 unit. My question is, what all is involved in going to the PC and does anyone know appx pricing. I would like to have a little info on this before we ask for a quote from one of our distributors so I don't waste any of their time in preparing a quote. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Personally, I would not go with the Attendant PC. I'd want the simplicity and reliability of a 2250. If I wanted to get more current, I'd look at a product that would integrate with your current directory/HRIS database.

Historically, Nortel has always lagged behind in every application that runs Windoze. Then they either discontinue it or make it so you have to use discontinued versions of Microsoft.

There are third party vendors out there that do Attendant PC's that can either tie into a 2250 or run as a soft i2004. I actually like them as they can tie into your database system and make things much, much easier on the operators.

We installed Attendant PC at one of our sites, it seemed to work very well as long as we were watching it .... as soon as we walked away it messed up. It lasted about 6 months before we went back to the regular consoles. I am sure this was partly the user not wanting to use this, but also part of it was the windows side requiring reboots every once in a while. Just my 2 cents worth.

So what I am getting is that you are suggesting to stay with the regular console or get a third party vendor. Do you have any suggestions as to which third party vendors to contact? Thank you
