We have been getting reports that calls to out main line get disconnected before the receptionist can pick up. We have two 2250 consoles that the number rings two in the day.

Does anyone know what might cause calls to the attendant to be dropped while they are waiting to be picked up?

I know it was one of these timers I changed when I had this same problem about 5 years ago. Our Recpt would answer and say hello and there would be no responce until she heard a click, then she would say hello. I know I had to lower one of them. If she waited until there was 2 rings she would beable to talk right away.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

for headsets they are using GNnetcom GN 8000 amps with wired headsets. I am not aware of these having a power saving function. Also it does not seem to only happen if they have been idle for a while. it can happen at any time.

ACE when that happened to you did it happen to every call or just some. Because it seems like it the timers were wrong would it not cause a problem with every call?

Looks like the headsets go to sleep after 2 min on that model and Pos ABC on the slide switch control that, try setting it to B or C if it's set to A, that way if they recepitonist says something into the mic then it wakes up, on A the far end has to say something. C turns off the power savings on the unit.

Basicly it was every calland the recpt learned to wait a second before saying anything or untill they heard the Click..

Checked this morning. The Aamps were set to A. So I set it to C to see if it clears up the issue.
