Attempting to link and or embed an excel spreadsheet into a word file 1

I am trying to link or embed an excel spreadsheet into a word file. When I attempt to do this I get the following message "Word is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action". When I hit the "cancel" option, then Word locks up and I have to restart. I have gone through the word and excel help system, and it didn't really give me any assistance. I appreciate any advice on this. Judy Starcevich

Judy, try this on a fresh reboot. Open Excel and copy the cells you would like to put into Word. Open Word (don't close Excel), and hit Edit-Paste special as a picture or Edit-Paste Link.
