--> modMain.vb:line 198

What's in this line of code?

I used to rock and roll every night and party every day. Then it was every other day. Now I'm lucky if I can find 30 minutes a week in which to get funky. - Homer Simpson

modMain:vb:line 198 is

frmMain.ShowDialog()

But I can't figure out why I get the error on this line, becuase frmMain is already open.

Hi shaminda,

I used to be plagued with this exact error which would only happen spasmodically. I seriously considered re-installing VB2005 until I found an article about it which offered this solution. Reduce the strain on the host PC and the problem will go away.

I looked at what was running and paused everything, including my virus scanner and the problem went away .. completely so I started adding back the kit I had paused until the problem came back and then remved what I could live without. It has not happened since except once when I accidentally installed Microsoft Security Essentials (bit out of it). Removal of same made the problem go away again.

Although I have a dozen PCs at my disposal I deliberately develop on a 2.7 processor running Vista (yah sometimes I paint the hall thru the letterbox) so my apps are not flattered by my PC (ever). This is a consequence of that decision.

I hope this is the same problem cos it is quite easy to fix.

Kindest regards,

David
