Please help.....

I have a client which uses Lotus Notes/Domino 5.0.9 with the CCMTA.

A user on Notes generates an email message with an attachment, addressed to a ccmail user using Outlook 2000. The Outlook user receives the email but the attachment name changes as in the example below:

<<File: error.jpg>><<File:
monthly_report_system_engineer-oct02.doc_10_21_02_06_59_am>>

Underscores gets put into the filename and the date and time gets added which means that the OS does not understand what application to open. The user must detach the file and then rename it by removing the date.

what is causing it and how can I fix

Can anybody please help....

Many thanks

Hi, flombard,

I have the same problem also. The problem is also relate to a user work with Outlook 2000 which configured to receive messages in CC:mail PO.

I searched web a lot, and found a scenario similiar to our problem. The article said if you are using a cc:mail 7.x and your workstation using 24 hours time format. The attachment name will be changed to contain the date and time.

The solution is change the cc:mail to release 8 or change the system time format to use 12 hour format.

Though the scenario is similiar to my problem, they are different. I had already in the cc:mail release 8 and the solution is not work to me. I think the problem is caused by the Outlook. Maybe the cc:mail client save message in its own format, and outlook can't recognize it correctly.

Hope you are lucky enough and the solution can help you.
