attachment problems in 4.6.3

Greetings all,

When some of my users click on the paperclip to make an attachment within Lotus Notes Client 4.6.3, nothing happens.. The button appears to be clicked, but no browsing box opens..

If they close notes, then open again - it works correctly. Next day or week or even hour, the problem commes back.

Anybody ever seen this ? Anybody know what to do ?

Running on PIII 64mb Windows 95, 4.6.3 notes.

Any help would be usfull..

I work for a large organisation who suffered this quite a lot. The only solutions I came up with was:

1. Remove, close Notes, open Notes and then re-add the smarticon.

2. Re-install the Notes client.

I have no idea why this happened and have searched Notes.Net for a reason, without success.

Many thanks for your reply... But I've solved it.. Seems to have been a problem relating to Client Access software for an AS400 which is also installed on the system.

It seems that if you load Notes before the client access software you get the attachment problems.. If you load the client access first, then lotus notes - hey presto - no problems with attachments..

So. You live and learn.. Hope this might help some of you other guys out there...
