I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't remember how, or if indeed you can, attach type / text to a path. The general aim here is to create a shape, for example a circle, and then bend the type around this.

Thanks!

PetitPal.

p.s. I have PS6
p.p.s. I know that the text pallette does lots of text manipulation but it doesn't do this!

PS does not allow for true attaching text to a path, but the text warp feature will allow for a reasonable facsimile, depending on the look that you want. To attach text to a path, use a graphics program such as Illustrator or CorelDRAW. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

There is a way you can create text around a circle:

Use 2 guides to find the centre and another that sits on the top edge of the circle. Place the text tool at top edge of your circle, click and type the fist letter. ctrl+T (or transform) and drag the centre point to the centre of the circle. Now rotate the letter round the circle, if you got it right this far it should follow the edge of the circle.

To make text follow a path you probably need AI. funkymonk B-)

Fireworks does an excellent job of attaching text to paths... I use it about as much as PS here lately and get great results. Regards,

Yeah, Paintshop Pro allows you to attach text to vectors, which is really nice. Pity that PS doesn't really, hey ho. At least I have finally found something to complain about in it!
