Hi, I am wanting to attach a file to a record. I want the user to be able to click a button, select a file and click save, just like attaching a file to an email, then the file to be saved / linked to the record.

I've searched all over the internet for this but keep coming up with "How to attached a file to an email"

Could anyone give me some example code or tell me a website where I could find some info?

Cheers
Chris

1. What application?
2. When you say "attach a file to a record" do you mean:
a. add the contents of the file?
b. add the file name?
c. add a hypertext link to the file?

Hi sorry i forgot to mention that, I want to attach the code to a record in access. And i'd like to have the entire file content saved so the user can just, for example, click on the file name in the database and then click open to open the file. But it may be easier to just have the filename stored, any suggestions?

Store the pathname in the DB and then use the Application.FollowHyperlink method.

Hope This Helps, PH.
