Has anyone had a problem with these and "analog" lines (coming in from telco via T1 > Channel Bank) with incoming calls not being answered by the IPO? I have a PRI48 in slot A, and the ATM4U in B, with port 5 setup for dialin access, and Lines 6, 7, 8 routing to a VM Pro start Point. In testing, the system would actually answer calls in (via modem or phone) about 10% of the time, but always after about 8-10 rings.

I'm routing calls out over these lines without any problems whatsoever. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

there is a known issue with the newer ATM4's when connecting them to a channel bank. I do not remember if there was a fix yet. I have had some luck when tweaking the voltage settings on the channel bank but it's a hit-or-miss endeavor.

There is also an issue with the newer ATM4's when in a 406v2 and using firmware earlier then 3.x. I have a client with 90 IPO's that need to use 2.1.27 and when i put the new cards in they never respond to any inbound or outbound call. This continued until I did an upgrade. Tested this out and every box i tried this on did the same thing.

best advice I can say is try to scrounge up an earlier version card.

The new ATM is only designed for 3.1.56 per docs. Also, don't mix and match a new ATM witha n old one in teh same system. The is an issue with that as well.

Tonight I upgraded the 406 to 3.1.56, and installed 2 ATM4U's - same problem! Calls ring to my buttset, but when I plug the lines into the IPO and it's "no - go" I suppose it could be a bad backplane/motherboard on the 406? Either that or some bad mojo coming from the telco's channel bank (in the opinion of the IPO, anyways...).

Back to the old ATM4's, with one "bad" port in an inactive state.

The new ATM4U Cards aren't "just" for 3.1 and newer, but if you are on at least 3.1 the cards offer optional 16ms echo cancellation.

I've had some problems in the past couple months with these cards, ranging from not working at all, to showing up at quad BRI cards! Make sure they are FULLY seated down onto the pins.. If not, it can cause unpredictable results.
