I am having an issue with excessivly long delay time with outbound calling. I have seen this issue on IPO R6-R7.

Even though I have my dial delay set at 3 seconds, it can take 9 to 13 seconds for the call to actually start ringing.

Now to be fair, the trunks are Comcast dial tone from an Arris modem. but if I put a butt set on the Comcast trunk I have immediate dialtone, and if I program a line appearance I also have immediate dial tone.

Now me telling the customers to switch vendors really isnt an option. Does anyone have any clues about this?

Use a ; in the shortcode for unblock dialing.

Example:

N;
Dial
N
Line id 0

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I always use XXXXXXXXXX, 1XXXXXXXXXX and 0N; for ARS matching (if you're in US with 10-digit dialing - modify to suit your local needs). This way there is no delay for domestic calls - once the last digit is dialed, the call proceeds. Delay is only imposed on international calls.

If you take the ; out of the ARS entries it will also speed it up. You need the ; for PRI, T1, etc, but not for POTS lines.

Make sure the trunk is set for loop start, not loppstart ICLID,
this also has a long delay for incoming calls

Success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm. Or is that another upgrade?

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACA - Implement IP Telephony

I will try all those ideas. I also got the cell number of a Comcast engineer for them to address this from their side. I heard there are several cases started with Avaya on these types of issues.

BurgerBen, I only have the delay issues on outgoing calls, not inbound.
