I have a Radeon 9500 pro which was working fine until i updated the drivers from off the website now i have blue lines on my desktop, and in games too

Any one have any ideas why

I have tried rolling back my drivers but i cant find my original driver disk that came with the card

One strange thing is i do seem to an extra video driver now a secondary pci driver for my agp graphics card

Any help would be gratly appreciated

The secondary one is, I believe, the driver to run a dual monitor setup. As for the blue lines, have you messed with the refresh rates and screen sizes? Other than that, put the card in another system or use a different monitor as a test and see if you get the same results. Could be a monitor problem. I have the 9500 pro and haven't seen this problem yet (pray it's not the card!!!).

any ideas how i get rid of the dual setup as it is not wanted. i have not played with the refresh rates at all but it happened when i changed to the new downloaded drivers

I don't think you can actually. It's built into functionality of the card (the dual display feature. It actually played hell with my computer untill I updated the motherboard bios to allow the card to work properly. But the point is that you can't disable it.

Do the lines move around or appear in different places when you restart? Also, can you screen capture them? This will help a bit in determining what's worng.

I am kinda getting the same problem except when I am booting up I get torn graphics in the form of lines that look like a jigsaw puzzles and I get game freezes but not system freezes. I think either ATI screwed up or Microsoft because Direct3D is really messed up in DirectX 9. I dont think its my OS im using windows 98se but ATI says that its still supported but microsoft just doesnt verify drivers for 98 or sumthin.
