I can't install this board,ATI ALL IN WONDER RADEON, in my system:

1.4ghz AMD Athlon
MSI MS-6330 Lite Motherboard w/ Via KT133
Award Bios V6.0 w/ VIA 82C305 rev 3
1.0GB pc133 SDRAM
60 GB 7200 HD
Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1

My system doesn't POST or boot at all. The led on the monitor turns green for ~10secs then back to orange and the system doesn't beep or do anything besides running the fans and the led on my DVD goes on initially then turns off. I have an ATI Xpert 200 Pro w/TV out card that I can use in this system with out any problems. After emailing Tech support for ATI and receiving an answer I tried everything they suggested. I flashed the bios, the chipset. I uninstalled drivers. Started the system with bare essentials(VD card, HD, Memory) to see if this card is pulling extra power that the other one doesn't. Changed bios settings to the suggested settings from ATI and others. I know the board works b/c I can use it in another machine without any problems under win95 or linux. Even with all the changes my machine runs fine with the original card, Thank God. I checked the MB site and ATI to see compatibility issues but I can't find any. Help.

remove all video drivers from your system have only standard vga installed before you run the ati cd

Another messy thing with the ATI cards is the flaky install CD that came with a 7500 I put on a system this week. Leaves you wondering if things went like they were supposed to...and leaves small wonder that newsgroups fill up with ppl trying to install the cards.

legend2b4 is spot on with the suggestion...if you haven't done it that way.

What size power supply is in this system? What size power supply is in the system where it works? Any difference?

When the post fails, feel around on the board for a hot capacitor. Any of them showing domed tops?

I tried booting the system with the only the standard vga drivers.

The power supply is the same in both, 300w.

I bought this card along with a barebones system off of ebay. That system works fine. I installed win95 and played around and I can get it to work under linux in that box.(by work I mean it boots and I can see everything) I didn't try the tv in yet but that's a whole different question that I will leave till I get it working in my main box where I want it!!!!

Actually the 300 watt power supply (any 300 watt power supply) is below minimum for today's systems. You need at least a 350 watt AMD approved power supply for that system.

I'd try this one 1st, in your shoes, and expect it to remedy the situation.

Well, I replaced the power supply with a 350w and it still does not work. I got it from the bare bones. I thought I had read it as 300 but it actually is a 350 when I read everything on it.

Still no go. It seems I just might have to migrate everything over to my new box and use my old one as my toy. I was hoping to avoid this.

AGH I hate the new security in XP. I moved everything over to the new system, HD, Processor, cdr/rw , DVD, Sound Card, Network card, floppy drive and the card worked, like I assumed it would but XP is keeping me from working. Just a big pain in the $%&!!! Just when I thought I had it. I moved everything back to my original board and now this quest just got serious. I must find out why it's not working in the MS 6330 lite board. Could it be a jumper setting? Maybe. Could it be I just have the one board it doesn't like?

Your card may not be seated correctly. Remove it and insert it again, push evenly. If the mb is rather new it may make a snapping sound before the card is all the way down in the slot, but there should be a very distinct "click" after that. I was surprised how hard I had to push to make mine work.

You're not alone,

Happy New Year!

i don't think that is the problem. there is a black lever that I have to hold down while inserting the card or removing it but it doesn't interfere with how the card seats. I upgraded the Via chipset drivers to VIA Hyperion 4in1 4.45v but that didn't help even after clearing the CMOS(once again) and uninstalling the video drivers. No where on the web have I been able to find anything that resembles my problem, card and MB. On goes the search. Any websites that anyone can suggest?

Did your computer boot after any of the above mentioned steps? Can you access the Bios?

If nothing at all happens it might be due to a shortcircuit
of your mb. A badly seated videocard should result in a 'Beep message'.
Bios should be set to boot to AGP.
A second videocard can cause problems, although more likely after booting during installation.

You seem to be familiar with the manual procedure, but checking all possible electric failure sources would be my first attempt in case of no boot, "all possible" = everything!

Maybe I missed something, but I've never heard of video drivers keeping the mb from booting.

If you have another videocard available, does it work?
Do you get the 'beeps' when starting without the card?
Finally, is the Bios up to date?

After all my troubleshooting, I begin to realize that my friend was probably right: You shouldn't cross the line!

Too late, but you're not alone,

TomCologne

Yeah the bios is up to date. After much discussion I think that this Video card is just not compatible with my MB. I guess I will have to trade it for something else. Thanks all.

I feel your pain. I got an All-In-Wonder 8500 128mb & can't get the stupid 4X AGP to run on my ECS 4X capable- VIA KM266 4X capable,1.4 Ghz Athlon system.

I entered your "KT133 and MSI trouble" into Google, went to the "groups" tab at the top- lots to read there.

Good luck- mine's still unsolved.... :(
