Does anyone have the instructions for setting a ATA2 device. I think I've got it setup right but it seems to work only after long timeout periods.

ata has no disconnect supervision so it will take a few minutes to hang up

Thanks for the response, but I can't even get dial tone on these lines through the ATA. Regular 7310's work fine so I know the DN is OK. Is there something I'm missing?

Depends on how you have your lines set up. Are you using a line pool and then dialing an access code, or ???????????

MarvO said it

They're set up to access the line pool just like the regular DN's. There's no access code required that I can tell.

dmjarby,
Thoughts,
Assign two intercoms, make sure power supply plugged in and operating, check connections to ensure correct direction, make sure mod plugs are working, and check prime line programming; make to I/C. Line pool access is required to be set to Y like any other phone, and then 'dial 9' or the assigned pool code is required. If your system has line supervision, make sure it's Y.

Cheers

I am having the samr problem on an MICS. Only 1 line assigned to the dn. Prime line is programmed for the correct line. If I put a set on the ext, it picks up correctly. Put the ata back on and the fax does not p/u the line. ONLY intercom. Someone mentioned something about a delay????

In programming Showset your DN of the ATA then go to Capabilities and then Hotline and press show, make your Hotline to be External and enter a pause (Feature78)depending on your setup you may nee 9 and then a pause.

I just got an ATA2 for my 3x8KSU DR5, I dont know much about them and this system is in my home. I cant seem to get my cordless panasonic or a corded phone to get a dial tone.
i have done i think what has been suggested here but maybe i am missing something.
Can you just plug and play or do i have to so specific configuration on the line before i plug in any ATA2 and if so what are the specific directions from step1?

thanks for any help

Derek

what have you done? How is it programmed to access lines. If you want "specific directions from step 1"....
1. Call a qualified vendor.

bkrike
that really doesnt help me.
I am not an installer and have this in my home.
I installed it my self and have have programmed my phones etc and all has worked fine for the past year. I am not technically illiterate,I just need help with the ATA2. If anyone is willing to assist with some instructions that I can use, please let me know.
thanks and Merry Christmas

How is it not helpful? I asked you questions and you have no response! How have you programmed it? We have to know how the system is working before we can advise. There are just to many variables that depend on your current config. If you programmed your system, then tell me how you programmed the ATA, what it is doing now that is incorrect, and I will see if I can help. I am not going to drag the info out of you.

my apologies, I misunderstood your comments.
When it comes to the ATA that is where i am stuck. I have programmed the phones etc. but i dont know where to start on the ATA. What i did is just unplug one of my phones and plug the ATA into it and then plug an analog phone into the ATA
I cannot get a dialtone and i guess that is what i am trying to do.
if i hit link/flash button and *60 it does set off the page tones on the other extensions so that is as far as i can get at this time.
If you need more info please let me know.
thanks

Derek

have you tried dialing 9?

First ringing- does it ring? If not asign it ringing lines like any other DN.

for dial tone: assign line(s) to a pool, asign the ATA DN that pool as its prime line, give that pool an access code such as 9.

Go offhook, dial 9- you have dialtone.

dialing 9 does not work
as for ringing it, it does not ring if there is an outside call coming in, and i dont know what extension it is on the inside as i assumed the extension number is assigned to the phone that is plugged in the jack, not the jack itself.
i did assign lines to a pool from my main phone to the extension where the ata2 is plugged in, but i did that while the phone was plugged in, not the ata2. The other thing i am not getting is what "DN" means.
Once you i understand that a bit more i will try it out and get back to you.
thanks again....

Derek

better yet make lets go back to the very basic...make sure you cords are plugged in to correct recpticle and the phone icon goes to the phone the jack icon goes to the wall outlet"phone" and you do have a power supply dont you......

ski season has started

ok,
it seems that i can get the corded and cordless analog phones to work on the system by hitting flash 9 two times.
i get a dialtone and i can dial out. a couple of issues though.
When i hang up, it doesnt drop the line so it holds the line open. Secondly it does not ring when there is an incoming call.
I cant seem to call intercom to other phones, it just sets off the page/intercom tone on all the phones...
i think i am making progress so you continued support is appreciated,,,should anyone be willing to talk to me via phone i would be willing to call you to speed up this process :)
Have a Merry Christmas.

Derek

ok i am back, just upgraded to dr5.1 and the ATA2 started to work.
I had dialtone yahoooo.
I did as curlycord suggested and put in the external hotline and the feature 78, now to dial out i just pickup reciever and dial 9 followed by the number.
My final question is to get it to ring. When i first plugged in the new KSU it rang, but when i did all my configurations it cause the ATA2 Cordless to stop ringing, can i get some assistance on how to get this back working?
thanks for all your help.
