Hi everyone,

I have a 3x8 DR5 and an ATA2. If a user on a M7310 holds a call on a POTS line (eg. Line001), how can the user on the ATA pickup the call? I really don't want to have to implement Park here, or transfers, if at all possible.

Thanks,
Matt

Sorry don't think you really have a choice. At the very least transfering will eventually need to be used. :) Just program a speed dial button for the cordless and label it nice, and transfer the calls to it. You'll get used to it. Just 2 buttons to press (Transfer and speed dial to cordless) ..

If u get a 7406 cordless phone you could get line apprearences and you could hold calls and pick them up. But that's an expensive solution just to not transfer.

Thanks for the replies. I thought that transferring may be necessary. I'm just surprised that Nortel didn't implement a feature code to pick up a POTS line on an ATA. Maybe they want people using Norstar phones! :)

Agree with DigitalMind about not having a choice. I set one up with several enGenius long range cordless phones on ATAs. Picking up a parked call is drop-dead simple. They caught on really well. However, in the absence of a paging system, transfer may be the best way as long as you know who's carrying which phone.
