Hi,
I'm having a problem configuring an ATA2 to ring at the same time as another extension. I've tried assigning the same line to both the ATA2 and the extension, but if I call that number only the extension handset rings and not the sounder attached to the ATA2. I have also tried a broadcast hunt group with the ATA2 and extension both as members and assigned the line only to the hunt group and still only the extension rings.
Any ideas as to what might be the problem here - the ATA2 is definitely working as assigning a line and calling it works fine.

What is a sounder . A ringer? If the line is only assigned to the ATA does it ring the ringer. When you call the ata extention does it ring the ringer. You can connect it to the Aux ringer port and set the phone extentions aux ringer to y.It will ring the ringer when the phone rings.

It is a ringer, a standard analogue line bell type. What type of signal does the aux ringer port provide - I couldn't find that info. Also the cabling was already in place for a digital extension to plug the ATA2 into, running another cable isn't really practical.

Thanks

Yes, it works fine when I call the extension directly, it's only when trying to have both the extension and ringer ringing simultaneously there is a problem.

Try moving the line to another port.If copper.Mabe not enough ring current.

Isn't it the ATA2 which is providing the ring current?

Tried it connected to another port - still not working as I would expect. It works fine if I use two digital handsets, but not if I use the ATA-2 in place of one of them.

If its just a line that you want to ring the bell forget the ata and just bridge the analog line to the bell and the phone system.

We don't have any analogue lines - the ATA is the only thing we have providing an analogue line to connect the bell to.

Assign the target LINE to HUNT group and have both the ATA and the Digital DN's in that hunt and that LINE in the HUNT group and both phones will ring at the same time.
