Hello all, I would just like to know what happens when port failure occurs, how does it happen is there a certain electrical component that fails for example, a blown capacitor, bad resistor, or whatever or is it the port it self that has gone bad? Also does it usually spread once it happens or does it just take out those couple ports and that's it? Thanks!

Most Long-time & long-Ago phone techs are not gonna know BOARD LEVEL failures ...
We find the port doesnt work, we dont use it.. Mark it BAD! When failures occurred back when ATT supported
them and I was a business partner, we simply replaced the control unit.
None of the dealer Dealer & ATT techs opened up the units for board level repair. Broke? replace it!
